Traditions

The alternative spirituality movement draws much strength from its incredible diversity. The wide variety of traditions means that spiritual seekers can readily find a path which meets their own particular needs and desires. Different traditions reflect the values of their parent cultures, exhibiting ethical and magical systems arising from various environmental, economic, social, political, and other influences. In searching for a suitable path, spiritual seekers may investigate those practiced by their own ancestors, by the natives of their current land, or by completely unrelated people who nevertheless hold some appeal for the seeker. Investigating other peoples' traditions also helps foster understanding and communication.
