Gender Studies and
Alternative Sexuality

Human nature includes a significant degree of diversity and adaptability. Gender is a social construct, and as such varies considerably over history and in different cultures. Even sex includes a lot more variation than most people realize, since biology can do some pretty peculiar things under certain circumstances. Sexuality incorporates still more possibilities. The classic pigeonhole description simply doesn't fit, and even a spectrum can prove too restrictive. So imagine a vast, multi-dimensional space in which each person occupies a particular point -- some areas thus show up as quite popular, yet room remains for the more adventurous souls to go exploring in the far uncharted waters.

I have always found these fluid and sometimes flamboyant topics fascinating. I graduated from college with a Women's Studies minor and have continued to explore many of the same issues in my writing. Likewise, this field combines well with my two primary fields, speculative fiction and nature religions -- an effect that also shows up in my writing. As in matters of spirituality, here too I say: There is no One True Right and Only Way. Do what works for you and grant others the freedom to follow their own hearts. With that out of the way, I invite you to come explore some of the nifty things I have found in my travels through this marvelous terrain.
